Astronomy is the study of the sky’s most silent and yet violent wonders. Galaxies, nebula, stars, planets and the vast dark dust clouds that lie between.
I was into science and astronomy stuff during my childhood school days where I was fascinated with the solar system. I did not have a telescope but would spend long winter nights looking up at the stars by lying on the house roof when my parents had gone to bed so they could not hear climbing out of my bedroom window.
In 2010 I saw a 10in. Dob on ebay and got it for £180, I was so chuffed but was left speechless when I got it back home and set it up. The massive size of the several eye pieces and the weight of them alone made me happy as they were quality ones, then when I popped one into the 10in. Dob and moved it to Saturn I was then left speechless again.
I also purchased a Sky-Watcher ED80 along with a EQ6 Mount and modified Astro Canon DSLR and started to do Astrophotography, however my back was getting bad and it was quite painful using the 10in. Dob, so I sold it. Later on I also had to sell my Sky-Watcher setup a few years later as I could no longer polar align in the garden as next door's tree got too big (It massive now)
Currently I am thinking of starting again but this time using a Smart Telescope like the Seestar S30 Pro. This is an all in one device and much much easier to setup and use use to it's small size. I have given myself a deadline of 28th September 2026 as this is the first day of astronomical darkness
