The Paranormal is a phenomena or experiences that are beyond the scope of normal scientific understanding.

What it encompasses

Ghosts / Apparitions: Perceived presences of deceased people or entities, often experienced as visual sightings, sensed presences, or interactions with the environment.
Poltergeists: A subset of alleged disruptive phenomena—objects moving, knocks, bangs, or other physical disturbances—often attributed to an unseen agent; historically linked to adolescent stress in many investigations.
EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena): Sounds or voices purportedly captured on audio recordings that were not heard at the time of recording and are interpreted as communications from nonphysical sources.
Psychokinesis / Telekinesis: Claims that mind or consciousness can influence physical objects without physical interaction.
Apparitions and Shadow People: Visual anomalies described as fleeting figures, shadows, or humanoid shapes seen peripherally or in low light.
Hauntings: Recurring paranormal activity localized to a place, object, or person—reports often include sounds, cold spots, smells, or repeatable patterns.

Other subjects that are classed as paranormal are...
Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) & Out-of-Body Experiences (OBEs): Subjective accounts of consciousness separating from the body or experiencing unusual visions during extreme physiological stress.
Cryptids / Anomalous Creatures: Reports of animals or beings (e.g., Bigfoot, Mothman) lacking scientific verification.
Psi phenomena (extrasensory perception): Claims of telepathy, precognition, or clairvoyance—information perceived without known sensory input.
Other anomalous phenomena: UFO/UAP sightings (when not identified), spontaneous human combustion reports, unexplained lights, etc.

I have always been interested in the paranormal since childhood where I would spend hours in the library reading ghost stories and UFO stories even though I did not know if it was real or not, but it was many many years later after the death of my father-in-law in 2013 that I decided to do some investigations. What started this off, well the in-laws always said their house was haunted even though I never experienced any thing there for the previous 30 years of visiting it though they all would claim they could hear stuff happening most nights like hearing someone walk up the stairs and door handles moving.

Any way 2 weeks after father-in-law died in their bedroom in 2013, mother-in-law said see saw an apparition for the very first time, whilst she was getting into bed, she leaned over to pick a book up to read when a figure of a man in an old brown suit appeared at the foot of the bed, she was startled but as she started to look the figure slowly faded away. It was this incident that made me want to actually investigate the paranormal as mother-in-law is not one to lie. I am skeptical but in a way a hopeful skeptic.
