FRP is my long term project of Football Result Prediction aka FRP. (Go on and have a laugh, everyone does :-) )
This is about ratings system
Over the many years I have always used a spreadsheet for testing equations, formulas and ratings. I have amalgamated several of these spreadsheets into one and using just the data now from a single season from the 2023-2024 English League 1 (E2 in my FRP system).
So to work with these formulas several things are need, these being...
1) The league home and away goal averages for the week and season.
2) Strength ratings which are calculated from the league averages.
3) Poisson Distribution percentages are calculated from the expected goals equation
4) The current odds offered to indicate value betting (Bet365, Betfair, Betfred, Ladbrokes & William Hill)
